Black event creators are at the forefront of a movement that creates spaces for communities to thrive and enact real change. Eventbrite wants to celebrate them.

Every week Eventbrite will be spotlighting a diverse selection of events that break new ground, raise awareness and bring people together. From enlightening panel discussions through to workouts and decolonised history lectures.

Some of the past events have included:

British Black Power: Leila Hassan-Howe in conversation

Leila Hassan-Howe has fought against state and street racism since the 1970s. She was strategist and activist in her own right quite apart from being the wife of the legendary Black Power activist Darcus Howe.

Spaces for Listening: Black Faces, White Spaces

This group is set up by and for Black and mixed black women residing in Birmingham and surrounding areas. It is a safe space for women to come and share their experiences or listen to others.

Liverpool: Black History and Black Activism

Online workshop with writer, entrepreneur, educator and activist Chantelle Lunt. Responding to the themes of the autumn exhibitions, Lunt will take us through a workshop that unpacks the history of Black people in Liverpool across the centuries, alongside wider contributions by Black cultural figures in the UK.

The directory of events is kept updated continuously.
