SERVICE INCUBATION
A Solid Foundation
The service incubation provision provides the safety net of an accountable agency acting as the responsible body for developing organisations until they have the confidence and infrastructure to become fully independent.
Even established organisations can also experience periods where their governance capacity is adversely affected and in need of a temporary incubation.
BUILDING SKILLS & CONFIDENCE
Our incubation support is not based on traditional business incubation models, and is not time limited.
In line with our mission and operational approach, organisations can be incubated until they are full ready to become independent. Until such time Catalyst acts as the accountable body for funders and contracts, and the supported organisation is effectively a project within our wider portfolio.
We are aware that there are many groups of people within our communities that have the capacity to deliver services that can have a positive impact on the lives of some of the most vulnerable in our communities.
They may not, however, have the skills or experience to establish properly constituted entities, carry out necessary research and consultancy on proposed services, or the overall ability to set up and manage complex policy and / or legal arrangements required to satisfy funding and charitable criteria and conditions.
CATALYST 4 CHANGE will bridge that gap!
Incubated Members
We support Catalyst members that are in need of structured engagement and an accountable body during their formative development phase. These may include in-house programmes that we ultimately intend to contract out.
At present we are incubating three initiatives. One of these is already having significant impact nationally, supporting bereaved families through a programme of awards, holiday and wellbeing projects.
Support-Connect
This was a freephone helpline service available to African and Caribbean people with mental health support needs across the West Midlands area.
The service was developed to offer support at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
At present only the online hub is active. The FREE to use database includes Government, Statutory and other advice, Counselling and Personal Wellbeing information, support organisations and much more.
Affiliate Benefits
Affiliated members get access to pre-determined levels of the above and other CATALYST 4 CHANGE services.
The level of service will be dependent upon the selected affiliate option. We have a range of options suited to organisations, community groups and individuals. Incubated services receive fully inclusive support where this is possible, but by-and-large this may be light-touch or signposting to opportunities or resources.
