SUPPORT-CONNECT HELPLINE
Covid support line
Support-Connect provided a number of pan West Midlands Freephone support lines across the geographical areas of Birmingham, Sandwell, Wolverhampton and Coventry.
The initiative was a collaboration between Catalyst 4 Change and four major charitable African and Caribbean mental health service providers.
Programme Currently Unfunded
The Support-Connect Multi-Agency Initiative
The lines were available to African & Caribbean people with a mental health support need, their families and carers during the COVID-19 pandemic that live in the areas set out above.
The lines give callers access to people and workers that they were already familiar with at no cost. Download our leaflet here
Friendly helpline staff were on hand for just a friendly chat, to direct them to appropriate counselling, therapy or community services and support in their area, or to discuss a support issue and/or concern, and so much more.
The service was in place for 12 months (from December 2020), but all partners remain committed to work together to secure resources future so that this service can be provided indefinitely.
Support-Connect was funded by the Heart of England Community Foundation and National Lottery Community Fund
